Rico Pit Bull Terrier Adult Male in Morgantown, West Virginia

My story
Oh Rico! What can I say about this sweet boy? Too much really. Rico is a sweet older boy that's had a bit of a rough life. He was pulled from a shelter at high risk for euthanasia. Prior to that, he was a neglect case where he was rescued from a not-so-great situation. None of that matters now though because this big guy has settled into being loved and gives it back x10. The phrase, "man's best friend" was invented around Rico. What lingers is that he will run/hide if there is yelling. He is very emotional when scolded, so correction is very easy/makes you feel bad.95lb lap dog? Yes, please! Cuddle machine? Also yes! Pastimes include: rubbing on furniture like a grunting pig, lazing about and basking, rolling on his back, intense love, drooling puddles when food is present, short walks, tromping in the water, being a goof, and so much more.Rico is a person dog, for sure. He -loves- his humans and wants to be with them. He also likes other dogs as long as they are as friendly and passive as he is. If they show aggression he will too. Large groups of many dogs may be a bit overwhelming for him. Cats are a big ol' ? He is very excited by cats; he wants to play with them, perhaps eat them. We were told he was good with cats, but after the shelter he was not good with cats. After being with us and being around them he is doing very well with them. So, cats are kind of in the air. Rico is LARGE. He is fine with kids, but he is so large he can easily knock small ones around; he also is terrified of babies specifically when they crawl.Rico is house trained with no issues. He never chews except on his soft toys and bones. He does amazing on a leash. He corrects very easily and learns incredibly quickly. He also knows basic commands: sit, stay, lay, go, come, up, paw, "eat your dinner", etc. Rico is crate trained (he will come with his nice fluffy bed that fits in an XL crate, which is the size he needs. He also requires a pillow, but his is super dirty and I doubt you want it. Haha.) He has a nice big harness which is recommended for him.TDLR; Rico is one of the most loveable, loyal, intelligent doggos I've had the pleasure to foster. He deserves a home where he will be safe and, above all else, loved immensely. Good with friendly dogs, kids that are big enough to be sat on, and maybe cats. Neutered & vaccinated.May 6, 2022, 4:09 pm
